This is the last post from Korea. We've been here for only five days, it seems as if it has been longer. The waiting has been interminable but is finally at an end. We have a long plane ride ahead, and we will survive. It will be okay. Our family will come home.
What I'm really thinking about this morning is Jaden's foster mom. She is preparing Jaden for us this morning. Undoubtedly she is putting extra thought into his clothes, his carry-on items, his bath... Whenever we saw her with him and saw her sing songs, it was clear is that she loves this child to her core, and she will be incredibly sad to leave him. We were supposed to bring gifts for her to show our gratitude, but what gift can we give that says thank you for providing our son with a stable, loving environment for all of these months? I can only hope that our thoughts and words do not need translation either.
Until America then...

I will be praying for a safe trip.

I don't know if I would have the generosity or strength to do what she has done. Thinking of what she must have thought and felt in these last days grips my heart.... I wish her peace. And I wish you a wonderful trip home. Together.
ReplyDeleteAre you really as calm and collected as you sound? Wishing you a safe, quick, un-EFing journey home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic three-some you make. Thank you for blogging your trip...it has been great to follow online. Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteI don't know that there really is a tangible gift you can give, but I'm sure she is just as grateful that Jaden is going home to a loving family as you are that she has taken care of him these past months. You may never see each other again, but the bond is unbreakable. Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteDear Jaden, right now you are sitting in an airport waiting to come home, probably feeling scared and confused. So I'll fill you in on something. You have the most amazing mom and dad. Yup, they're the people fussing over you right now who can't stop smiling. No, they're not crazy - they are just very very happy. You also have a million people back home who already love and adore you. Can't wait to meet you little guy.
ReplyDeleteI'm antsy--can't wait for you three to get home!
